What kind of photo makes
a great drawing?
— * Clear,
detailed, not blurry
— * The
larger, the better, but if you only have a small photo,
make sure the image you want me to draw is clear and easy to see. (I used small
black and white passport photos for one family’s drawings and they worked
great)
— * Naturally lighting
in the picture is best… make sure the photo isn’t “bleached out” by the use of
a flash and that it doesn’t have extreme shadows, but instead nice gentle
shadows
—
* A great angle…
for a house, you decide is directly in front or slightly offset is best. Make
sure there are no obtrusions in front. For a child, think poses for a
professional shot:- facing straight ahead, looking at the camera, or facing
away at a slight angle. Look at some of the examples of drawings I included for
help.

you aren’t sure if a photo will work, the best bet is to scan it and let me see
it and I can give you more feedback.
***If you want me to draw multiple children,
consider finding photos of all of them around the same age
